Perched at the edge of the continent overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the Lands End Lookout draws its inspiration from the ruins of Sutro Baths nestled in the cove below. The ruins uniquely embody the building’s main interpretive theme – that the forces of nature and culture have shaped these lands at the edge.
The 4,140 sf visitor center is a new model of National Park Visitor Center - one you go in to go out again and explore the surrounding park - that is financially self-sustaining, and respects our resources by using as few as possible.
